Love to get some feedback.

I love fabrics and clothes but really not the catwalk glamour kind. What I love are homemade style and unusual designers who make ageless and comfortable clothes for all types of women. I love antique lace and pretty things like ribbons and other embelishments. Ethnic clothes and all kinds of embroidery interest me and I love to look at piantings for inspiration too.All dress is fancy dress if you like as we are born nude Ha ! Ha!
So please if you have any comments ,ideas or favourites let me know, hope you enjoy Sweet Disorder!

I am going to spend a whole day in my sewing room!

Some inspiration here,a japanese pattern, putting a lace collar on a smock dress would brihten it up !
I will spend a bit of time sorting through my lace box.It is lovely just to look at it all !
I wish I could buy dress patterns in some of the shabby chic type fashions but so far although I have trawled  the net I have not come across any.
This is gorgeous made by Inge de Jonge.
I am always torn between making a garment or starting a patchwork

This is a favourite pattern,Folkwear have a wonderful array of ethnic and historical patterns, maybe I will have a look at them.
Bedtime now maybe I will dream of fabrics, lace and the silk route!

Some more lovelies !

Lace is so dainty ,it adds so much to a garment.
A lace collar is very flattering.

Another  bit of layering fun from Nadir!
I love the striped pants.
Love this but the shoes are a bit clumpy for such a graceful outfit.
Lovely detail. Stripes and lace look good together.
A timeless skirt or petticoat.
Masai is a favortite and guess what? I bought the little top on the right in a sale for a lot less that its original price ,I watched and waited and I was meant to have it. A bit naughty but once in a while something that is just you calls!
The posts I put on Sweet Disorder never get many comments but I use it to air my frivolous side !!!
Clothes I love them ,even my 90 yearold Mum is addicted !

She never to old to layer!!!

Nadir's New Summer Collection!

I love the way so many gorgeous prints are used in Nadir Positano's clothes.
I think a holiday in Positano would be a great idea but would I go bankcrupt after it?

I do find the styles timeless and beautiful.
I think I might try to copy the idea of this patchwork piece.

I would love to wear this,it is so graceful and looks comfy and cool.
I want this !!!!
and this!
The bag is great.
As usual I love them all and this is just a glimse of the new collection.
Beautiful colours!
Makes me feel the warmth of the sun!

Some new ideas for 2013

I have been knitting squares to make a throw but how I wish I could crochet a lovely shawl like this. The colours are beautiful and I like the design.I will find a teacher and have a go.
I like the idea of combining the knitting with  the embroidered edgeing.
These are gorgeous and such lovely pastel shades!
What fun these are but where would I wear them?
A girl can't have to many lacy slips!
Great for the snowy days.
Romantic.
Here is the blouse on its own ,it makes me think Anna Karenina!
Right now its woollies, boots and socks but soonwe can blossom again!

Merry Christmas and wrap up warm!

Here is a nice way to use those lacy bits and peices from the charity shop. Makeover your old gloves!
This designer has a lovely site full of accesories!
I love this and the pretty cosy hat!
Folkloric bag.

Cosy cardigan and scarf ,looks good with the ruffled skirt.

I like these kids in their peasant clothes especially the red shirt.

I am inspired to sew by this! The bag is great too
Hope you like these ideas and can use some in your sewing and crafting!
Not much time now for anything but having a jolly Christmas. My Mum who is coming to stay started my interest in clothes, fabrics etc and taught me  to sew. She will be 90 years old in the spring and she is still a sharp dresser and has a wonderful sense of colour.I can remember my Dad and Mum staying up late at night making our Christmas presents. Mum dressing dolls and Dad building model forts and garages . Money was not around for expensive presents but I was always so happy with my home made ones!

Folkloric dress

These delightful tops come from Russia.
This a painting by Natasha Malashevich a Russian painter.

This as a vintage Czech dress it brings to mind early Laura Ashley!
More from the Czech Republic,a dance costume ,the bolero has great embroidery and the woman's costume is bursting with colour!
This is from Denmark and I would love to wear it!
These colourful women are Gugerati. The intricacy of  the mirrorwork and embroidery is wonderful.
How handsome these young men from Georgia look in traditional dress!
Think I like the one on the far right myself!
This is a traditional Norwegian outfit and I would love to try it on too!The detail on the sleeves and cuffs  I love.
What a masterpiece this is!

A tunic from Ukraine.
These are only a few of the marvellous Folkloric clothes that I have been looking at recently . What I love about this kind of dress is the amazingly skillful work, stitches, embroidery and design that ordinary people have created. They are inspiring to me  and I am sure to other dressmakers and designers.I like fashion but this makes me realize that before huge fashion houses and consumerism in clothing took hold beautiful ,decourative and practical garments have always been created!
They are works of art and womens art at that because I think that women probably did the designing and the needlework, hope you like them!
